The Grand Geneva
Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is central to the founding of the RPG industry, where in 1973 long-time resident Gary Gygax founded Tactical Studies Rules (that later became TSR, Inc.) with his close friend Don Kaye, and first published Dungeons & Dragons. Of course prior to that Gary Gygax started a little war games convention as one of the officers in the International Federation of Wargaming called the Geneva Convention or GEN CON for short. Today that little convention is owned by Peter Adkison and attracts about 70,000 attendees. Lake Geneva is located 1-hour southwest of Milwaukee and 1.5 hours northwest from Chicago.
How to get to Lake Geneva. There isn't a convenient mass transit solution to getting to LG for GC. You can drive from home to Lake Geneva, or choose to fly into Chicago (O'Hare is most convenient) or Milwaukee (General Mitchell). It is possible to book a shuttle or limousine service to and from the airport. Search the Internet to find the best deals. Many people rent a car and drive themselves to and from the airport. Some people use the Gary Con FB Group and/or the GC Discord Server to ride share and defray costs.

Staying onsite is the most convenient for most of our attendees, but the rooms sell out quickly. Partner Hotel. The Comfort Suites is an all suite hotel located less than 2.5 miles away from the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Amenities includes a free hot breakfast, free high speed internet, in room refrigerator and microwave, and an indoor pool. There is a shuttle to/from the Grand that operates Wednesday through Sunday.
Shuttle Service: The hotel will operate a shuttle service to and from the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa from Wednesday evening at 5pm through Sunday at 8pm. Shuttle will have a daily schedule of 7 am to midnight during the convention. The drop off is at the main lobby of the Grand Geneva. There will be a signup sheet at the Comfort Suites front desk that we ask guests to use so that the hotel can make additional trips as needed.

Timber Ridge Lodge at Grand Geneva Resort features 50,000 square feet of year-round, indoor/outdoor waterpark. The Lodge is located on the same property as the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa and is a wonderful place to stay if you are bringing your children to Gary Con! The Grand Geneva shuttle service (aka the Trolley) runs between Grand Geneva and Timber Ridge frequently during Gary Con. This is from The Grand on the Trolley:
Trolleys are on a continuous loop starting at 6:30 am going until 1 am and then going on demand until 3 am.
IF anyone misses the Trolley our overnight Public Safety Team will be available to take them down to Timber Ridge Lodge.
